Just a few weeks ago I started craving bacon and NEEDING strawberry Fanta, the first signs that Ryan and I are going to have a baby. I immediately starting trying to figure out how we were going to tell people. Obviously it had to be with a photo. I started picking out which outfit I would wear and how I would wear my make up.. then I got REALLY nauseous and still do. We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday and I couldn't bring myself to hold it in any longer. I tried my hardest for two days to do my hair and make up and put on a cute outfit. However, it just wasn't meant to be. Most of you who have been photographed by me know that I like to photograph things as they are. Real moments, things that really happen day to day. Why in the world would I struggle to look all done up when I've spent the last few weeks laying in bed? Even though I still wasn't brave enough to show my un-makeuped face, it's a pretty realistic photo....
We are stoked beyond belief and can't wait for (somewhere around) December 10th!

So I got a completely manual film camera...FINALLY! I forgot how exciting it is to go pick up your prints and see what you took. It's like a little present! The first roll wasn't perfect. There were times where I forgot to change the F-stop and it was too dark, or times when I didn't get the focus quite right. But I must say that I'm pretty happy with the way the first roll turned out! Here are some of my favorites:

The Disney 'Up' House
2
Monday, August 1, 2011
If you live in Utah, you know that an exact replica of the house from Disney's 'Up' has been built in Herriman. Inside and out! You can go and view the outside anytime you'd like, but the inside can only be toured during the Parade of Homes. I'd go asap, because this house is up for sale for only $400,000. And, because of the Home Owner's Association rules, may not even be allowed to stay the accurate colors. :( Go see it now, before it gets beiged!

Ghost Town

Tuesday, June 28, 2011
On our recent trip to Texas, we drove through Cuervo, New Mexico. It is a small town close to Route 66 that was abandoned in the 1940's when Interstate 40 was built and literally divided it in half. You can read more about Cuervo here.
I had a small heart attack when we were driving through this little town. It only took 30 minutes and 4 back-tracks to figure out how exactly to get to it. Here are a few photos I was able to snap in our too-brief stop in Cuervo.
